Air quality

Air pollution

The quality of air inhaled by humans has a direct link to possible adverse health effects. Air quality is important for our living as well as our working environment.

The quality of ambient air
Besides source emissions, a direct measurement of the quality of ambient air may also be necessary in order to highlight the nuisance caused by your company to the environment and to address the problem comprehensively. VITO has considerable experience in active as well as passive air sampling and for a wide variety of components. Furthermore, VITO has considerable experience in the field of deposition measurements (e.g. acid deposition, dioxins, heavy metals).

And the quality of workplace air
The quality of ambient air is important for the quality of life within a certain environment. However, the quality of air within your company (workplaces, offices) is perhaps even more important as this can directly influence the health of your employees. VITO has considerable experience in measuring specific industrial pollutants in workplaces or, for example, for sick building syndrome in offices. Furthermore, we implement an internationally certified quality control system.

Personal exposure
You are concerned about the health of your personnel. You set up an effective sickness- prevention policy. An essential part of this plan is a realistic picture on the levels of air pollution to which your employees are exposed.
In this case, classic measurement campaigns are insufficient. Such approaches use an air quality monitor placed at a fixed location. But which of your employees stays at the same place the entire day?
VITO has developed a mini exposure meter which your employees can attach to their body. This helps to provide a realistic picture on personal exposure. This information is essential for anyone concerned about the health of their personnel.
