Project Objectives
The main objective of the project is to verify that the service-oriented architecture and standards proposed within the ESA HMA (Heterogeneous Mission Accessibility) permit easy linking of metadata keywords to more than one domain ontology and thesaurus. The use of ontologies to support the discovery use cases will be demonstrated during the project with the developed prototypes.
Methodology
- Establish user requirements and derived software requirements.
- Implement different components as a prototype.
- Demonstrate the prototype to identified user communities, e.g. the GMES Land Monitoring Core Service.
(Expected) Results
- The discovery use cases will be enriched with semantics, by linking the usage of ontologies.
- HMA and INSPIRE compliant discovery services will be accessible from one catalogue client.
VITO Contribution
- Establish user requirements, more specifically from the viewpoint of the GMES Core Services.
- Demonstrate the prototype, assess and collect feedback from the users.
